Story

Sidharth (Emran Hashmi), the chief of a local police station in Goa, is on the verge of a divorce with his wife, Sonia (Shamita Shetty), whm he still loves. He gets involved with a local married woman, Amna Varghese (Udita Goswami) who is dying of cancer and whose marriage is on the rocks. Things are not what they seem; and then starts a murky tale of drug money, murder and deciet

In Zeher, he plays an acerbic cop who struggles through an upcoming divorce with cop-wife Shamita Shetty and a bit on the side with mysterious woman Udita Goswami. Of course, the bit on the side grows into a big-big storm as His surging hormones force him to fall for every lie that is thrown at his face.

He ends up becoming a hapless pawn in a game of drugs and blood with everything being on stake. On the one hand, he is on the threshold of losing his wife whom he still loves, despite his philandering. And on the other, his job too becomes jeopardised when he steals the money he has recovered from a drug raid and gives it to his girlfriend who tells him she dying of cancer, apart from bearing his child and being beaten up by a wicked husband. Zeher is yet another film produced by Mahesh Bhatt that deals with extra-martial relationships. It is directed by his nephew debutant Mohit Suri and stars another nephew Emraan Hashmi.

Emraan, an upright police man, is accused of being a MCP by his wife (fellow cop Shamita Shetty) who even aborts their child in a state of pique. However, instead of focussing on the troubled marriage, which would have made interesting viewing, the focus shifts to solving a murder mystery.
